SIIMA 2023: Madhavan wins Best Directorial Debut for ‘Rocketry’ & Gautham Ramachandran wins the Best Debutant Producer for ‘Gargi’

Madhavan is one of the prominent actors of India, Though he is successful and well flourished in the film industry, the actor made an extra effort to make his directorial debut with the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’. The film is a biopic of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. Madhavan directed the film and he has now won the Best Debut Director Tamil at SIIMA 2023.SIIMA in an official post said, ” Madhavan struck gold in his directorial debut, Rocketry – The Nambi Effect! He is undoubtedly the Best Debutant Director (Tamil) this year. Congratulations!”

Though ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ did not gain much fame in India, the film was celebrated all over the world as it was screened at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival last year.
On the other hand, Madhavan who made his comeback in Tamil cinema with ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ after a long time has signed up for two new Tamil films. He has completed shooting for the film ‘Test‘ which stars Nayanthara and Siddharth alongside Madhavan in lead roles. He will soon start shooting for his other film with director Mithran Jawahar and the film is a biopic of GD Naidu.
Meanwhile, the Tamil film ‘Gargi‘ which received much appreciation from people after its release last year, has won the Best Debut Producer by Gautham Ramachandran. The film was written, directed and produced by Gautham Ramachandran and it starred Sai Pallavi as the female lead.
